The Oak Dress - Marigold Dyed
A simple, elegant & naturally dyed linen dress, designed by us and sustainably produced.
This is the first dress in the soon to be expanded range of Craftmonger Clothes, which we are very excited to produce.
This dress is designed to be oversized and flowing for comfort and freedom of movement. The linen tie can be tightened for a more fitted look, or looped around the waist fully and tied at the front. We are a firm supporter of pockets in all women’s clothes and have included two of them in the pleated skirt.
The fabric is 100% natural, OEKO Tex certified, European linen sourced from Merchant & Mills. It has been naturally dyed with Marigold flowers by Sophie Holt who runs Pigment Organic Dyes. Sophie organically grows all the plants and flowers used in her dying process just five minutes away from the shop.
The making of these dresses took place within the clothing atelier at Craftmongers No.32 shop, by Abbi a seamstress there who is excellent at what she does. We wanted to the production of our Craftmonger clothes to be fair, local and as sustainable as possible by making them within our very own shop.
Due to the nature of natural dying with plants, the fabric has some areas of mottling. This is subtle and an aesthetic we like as it reflects the natural process, however if you want specific images of the mottling on the dress please contact us.
SIZING
Small - Waist is approximately 110cm in its loosest form. Length from back neckline to hem is approximately 116cm.
Medium - Waist is approximately 114cm in its loosest form. Length from back neckline to hem is approximately 120cm.
Large - Waist is approximately 118cm in its loosest form. Length from back neckline to hem is approximately 124cm.
